This article lists all of the minor characters in SOMA. These characters typically have very little to hardly any information known about them and do not make a major appearance in the game, though some of them may play a pivotal role in the game’s lore.

Unnamed Mother[]

The Unnamed Mother is an unseen character in SOMA. She is only mentioned in a news article regarding the car accident involving Simon Jarrett and Ashley Hall at the start of the game. She was apparently distracted by her children and ran a red light, causing her to crash her robust SUV into the passenger side of Simon's car in the intersection of Bloor Street and Spadina Road, bruising her and her children, killing Ashley and injuring Simon. She later told the police that it was an accident and practically unavoidable.

Unnamed Children[]

The Unnamed Children are unseen characters in SOMA. They are only mentioned in the same news article that their mother is mentioned in, regarding the car accident at the start of the game. They distracted their mother while she was driving, which caused her to crash into Simon's car, making them somewhat responsible for Ashley's death and Simon's injury, which he, months later, succumbed to.

Marie Jarrett[]

Marie Jarrett is an unseen character in SOMA. She is Simon Jarrett's mother. She appeared to have been a loving and caring mother, indicated by the get well soon card on Simon's desk that she made for him after the car accident.

Marie's name is never mentioned in the final version of the game; however, her name is revealed on her grave that Simon stumbles upon in a cut sequence of the game.

At New York, on January 10, 2103, two days before the Impact Event he sent a message to Vigdis Jonsdottir one last message about how the satellite office was closing down and how everyone was being evacuated, then telling her that it had been an honor working with her and Upsilon, then wishing her good luck with "the apocalypse". Two days later on January 12, he perished along with everyone else on the surface when Comet Telos hit Earth.

Dominic[]

Dominic was the husband of Amy Azzaro. Not much is known about Dominic, other than how he didn’t get along with his parents throughout his life, as he states in a video that it was hard enough looking them in the eyes.

He married Amy Azzaro, who then had to be separated from due to her work on PATHOS-II before the Impact Event.

On January 12, 2103, before Comet Telos hit Earth, Dominic sent Amy one last video in which he told her that his parents were going to a bomb shelter upstate along with her father to find someone to help him send her a message. He then admitted that he regretted that they couldn't have a "normal life" together but was still proud of his wife and glad that she got to follow her dreams.

As he mentions his parents and Amy's father relocating to a bomb shelter “upstate” before the Impact Event, it’s possible that he and Amy are from New York City. Since he doesn’t seem to relocate with them, that is likely where he died upon the impact of Comet Telos not long after he sent Amy the video.

He is voiced by an unknown actor.

Dominic's Parents[]

Dominic's Parents are unseen characters in SOMA. Not much is known about them aside from how they didn’t get along with their son very well, and that before the Impact Event occurred, they went upstate to a bomb shelter with the father of their son's wife, Amy Azzaro to presumably find someone to help him message her. Not long afterwards, they were both killed when Comet Telos destroyed the surface.

Amy Azzaro's Father[]

Amy Azzaro's Father is an unseen character in SOMA. Before the Impact Event, he went to a bomb shelter upstate with the parents of his daughter's husband, Dominic, presumably to help him send Amy a message. It is unknown if he ever managed to contact her. He was killed not long after when Comet Telos destroyed the surface.

Hopper[]

Hopper is an unseen character in SOMA. He was a crew member of the MS CURIE. During the Impact Event, he observed the disaster and located the land of Lisbon and the coast of Portugal covered in a firestorm reaching into the sky, then revealing that there were no signs of life nearby. It is unknown if he survived or not when the CURIE crashed near the station.

He is voiced by an unknown actor.

MS CURIE Radio Operator[]

The MS CURIE Radio Operator is an unseen character in SOMA. During the Impact Event, while Hopper was observing the chaos, the radio operator asked him if he could find any signs of life nearby, which he couldn’t. It is unknown if he survived or not when the CURIE crashed near the station.

He is voiced by an unknown actor (the same actor who voiced Hopper).

MS CURIE Captain[]

The MS CURIE Captain is an unseen character in SOMA. Before the Impact Event, the Captain told the crew that the final efforts to stop the comet had failed and that the impact was imminent.

After the Impact Event, he claimed that CURIE was safe while submerged, but that the surface was completely destroyed.

He is voiced by the same actor who voiced Hopper and the Radio Operator.

"Nanami"[]

"Nanami" is an unseen character in SOMA. She was an anonymous Japanese woman who was born on December 11th, 1997. She was the first person to have their neurograph captured. She was scanned on 12 March 2014 by Nakajima Shin, the creator of the Nakajima-neurograph, later known as the brain scan. Seven years later on July 17th, 2021, she died at the age of 23.
