Unused dialog

I just fished up some unused subtitles from the game which, according to the file, should have been played on the first map of Upsilon:

Keep them closed, keep them out.

I don't recognize this place. Looks like Pathos-II, but nowhere I've been before.

Say something, Vanessa. Did you close the doors? We should keep them closed.

It's all getting blurry now. I guess it's some kind of a seizure but I haven't felt this before.

I see something, something different now. It's not Lambda, that's for sure.

I don't recognize this place. Are we still on Pathos-II?

Take me back to Lambda. Let's get on the Curie, let's just get on the Curie and just forget about all this.

The black seeping sewage of the WAU. It's what they want.

Close it, close them all. The doors are on our side.

Is this Upsilon? That would make some sense.

It sounds like the blackbox on Simon's suit would have retained some of Imogen's memories, but I wouldn't go as far as saying this is canon. Pauolo (talk) 23:10, November 3, 2015 (UTC)

Interesting, maybe there's a place for this on Trivia section... (Pimposo (talk))

I was wrong. I found the voice files for those lines and that's a man speaking, not a woman. I'm not exactly sure who though, it could be one of the male characters from Transmissions, or either Chris Josic or Nathan Grau (though I doubt it, he mentions keeping the door closed as if the place was overrun like Upsilon). Another precision, that "SuitRobot" could be similar to what Simon is, but that's all I can guess. Pauolo (talk) 22:23, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

Difficulties writing this content article

There may be some issues to solve prior to being able to rewrite this page to remove the ¨stub.¨
Pages are categorized by biography>transmissions>game, biography detailing items, other stories, so on.
The logical order to reconstruct the page in is this:

  • Mockingbird item / Vivarium (error: can't determine which happened first. Suspect: Mockingbird, b'cause in Chun's room in Soma she examined Vivarium parts and realized that she could use it for the Ark and that's how the WAU creates Mockinbirds. But: Golaski's mockingbird could still have been created during Reed's experiments on the Vivarum or after).

  • Other stuff or Tranmissions--here's the issue: It can't be determined if Reed (along with Lambda Salvage Crew) has moved out to Lambda yet or if they are still at Theta. All we know is:
Approximately 2103-06-06 -- Reed gives Chun her scan found in the Vivarium, they are likely at Theta but not comfirmed (Where is the Vivarium first found; Theta or Lambda?). Does not mean this date when Vivarium found, only that this date Reed gave Chun scan. This give Chun the idea how to make the Ark project.
2103-07-04 -- Scanning phase of Ark project commences at Theta.
2103-07-12 -- Mark Sarang suicides at Theta after scan, halts project for approxmately 1 month.br /> 2103-07-29 - 2103-08-26 -- Scanning commences with a list of people from various sites, see Brain scan, but primarily the people from Transmissions series are scanned. (It's doubtful that Catherine made arrangements to travel back and fourth between Upsilon, Theta, Lambda--but it is possible!--so we have two options:) That means that either Reed [and Lambda salvage crew) is still at Theta or they traveled to Theta from Lambda.
    line-break!
It Transmissions 4; it's mentioned that Catherine left a week ago. That either means that Catherine visited Lambda (as all of Transmissions--except for ending--takes place at Lambda, the last episodes mentions that they need to leave due to Lambda being 'bout to implode and they show the control room. The same control room is a character throughought the entire series. Thus: they at lambda) or left for Omicron and Tau which would make the date: 2103-12-25 (mentioned in brain scan) But, like I've been saying, there's no way to determine which it is.
    line-break!
It isn't mentioned where Reed is scanned. She could have been scanned at Theta and then left for Lambda where Transmissions starts, or Catherine Chun could have visited Lambda mid-Transmissions, or she (and rest of Lambda) could have visited Theta to be scanned prior to transmissions.
  • SOMA. The basic stuff, like where she's mentioned.

Or if you don't want to read all that: One can't determine if Transmissions or Reed's scanning process happens first. One needs to know if Reed's scanning process happened first for it it did; it shall be placed *prior* to Transmission section. But if it happened during; one shall place that info' in the Transmission section. Suppose the best option is--if one doesn't desire to scoure the game, series, for info'-- to add Item, Scanning, info, prior to Transmissions, then merely add a disclaimer (or update stub) that some info may be incorrect. -- Theh5 12:49, November 7, 2018 (UTC)

A tip of advice (And I may have to make this a wiki rule): take Transmissions with a grain of salt. It is only a web series inspired by SOMA, Frictional Games had little to no involvement, and they actually say that at the beginning of each video. It is fine to see Transmissions as a source of what events could've happened before SOMA, but that's all it should be treated as. If something in Transmissions contradicts something in SOMA, which is the primary source of the SOMA universe, disregard it. --Cridone (talk) 17:47, November 10, 2018 (UTC)
It doesn't really need to be a rule, I haven't found much at all that contradicts. The issue I noted was merely that the order of it all is unexplained which leaves us to guess (or I can't remember). Guessing/assuming can be dangerous. And an issue unrelated to Transmissions is the Item Files, the order of them aren't explained. One can assume but that can be dangerous. But I've decided to model it after the Golaski page, a page that had all this info prior to my edits on it--but it can still be wrong, an assumption in order, but I doubt (or hope) not. -- Theh5 13:22, November 11, 2018 (UTC)

Nationality

What the hell does Equo-American mean?

InspectorGregson (talk) 17:51, January 12, 2020 (UTC)

SOMA takes place in the future, so it just seems to be some sort of future ethnicity/nationality that's never explained in the game. --Cridone (talk) 04:26, January 13, 2020 (UTC)
